The most-watched anime episodes in the first half of 2023 were categorized based on average viewership and total reach.
The final episode of the third season of "Demon Slayer," which aired on Fuji TV and other channels on June 18, 2023, claimed the top spot as the most-watched anime episode on Japanese television. It garnered an average of 15.4 million viewers and had a total reach of 22.87 million viewers. Interestingly, the second-ranked episode also belonged to "Demon Slayer."
The premiere episode of the "Swordsmith Village Arc" also drew a substantial audience, averaging 10.3 million viewers and reaching a total of 22.5 million viewers on Fuji TV on April 8, 2023.
The remaining positions were filled by "Mrs Sazae" (February 12, 2023 10 million / 14.3 million), "Detective Conan" (April 15, 2023 7 million / 11.4 million), and "Little Miss Maruko" (January 15, 2023 6.6 million / 10.7 million).
